Preschool

Last Friday was a special day.  A very long, but special day.  I signed my first born up for preschool.  Noah is now registered to start attending CrossPoint Christian School in September.

It was special because it will be the start of a new chapter in Noah's life.  I think he is excited, but mostly because he thinks he is going to ride the cool "lello" school bus. I'm excited because he is going to have so much fun and make tons of new friends, have a little structure in his life and learn oodles of new things.  For example, he will learn that if he doesn't want to finish his art project, he will have to sit there until the activity is done.  Not eat the paper and project to emphasize he is done.

It was a long day because I got to the school at 4:00 AM.  I had heard there were some women out there who get there super early so they can get their kids in school.  Not only was I impressed with myself for getting there early, I even brought a piece of paper to start the sign-in sheet just in case I was the first mom there.  It turns out I had greatly under-estimated "early".  By getting there at 4:00 AM, I was the 35th in line and the first mom on the sign-in sheet had signed in at 4:45 PM the evening before (for those of you slow at math I was almost 12 hours behind the overachiever moms).  Those women are CRAZY.  There is no way I will spend the night in my car (on one of the COLDEST nights of the year) to sign my kid up for a plain-jane, regular old church preschool.  I was really convinced that only happened in the movies.  Or New York.

As we get closer to September I will probably turn into a basket case.  I'll be so proud and so sad my little baby is growing up and starting school.  Thank goodness I will be on maternity leave so I will be able to be there and drop him off at school for the first month or two.
