A Week At Grandma and Grandpa's

My Adventures at Grandma and Grandpa’s house – or as I think of it as “My Parents Dumping me on the Old Codgers Week”

Yeah, my parents decided to have fun without me and dumped me on the old folks this week. I thought it would be fun and games, and some of it was, but some of it SUCKED!

On Saturday I decided to break them in slowly, poor old souls. We played – lots, and I thought it would be fun to sort of throw in a kicker, I ran a low grade fever pretty much all day on Saturday and kept my nose running down toward my mouth anytime I saw Grandma looking at me. That drove her crazy, she would chase me all over the house with that silly tissue and try to wipe it away! It was the most fun!!! That night I really thought of the neatest thing to do – I woke Grandma at 4 am by crying really LOUDLY into the monitor and when she picked me up I puked all over her! Boy, can she trot down those steps in a hurry when she has puke on her! After her and Grandpa changed her clothes and mine I was kind of sleepy again and took a little nap. Since I was all refreshed after an hour of sleep I thought I’d cry really LOUDLY again, just to see how fast her reflexes were – and when she picked me up I puked all over her again!!! She wasn’t quite as fast down the stairs as before, but we had to change our clothes one more time!! I upped the ante and decided to run a pretty high fever – enough for her to start emailing my Doctor and to look at me all sad and stuff. I decided I liked laying on her – Grandma’s are all soft and squishy in all the right places and just chilled for the rest of the day and on Monday. I like sleeping on Grandma in the big recliner!!

Tuesday I got to go to the Doctor. She said I had something in my chest, brontosaurus or something. I got some tasty new medicine to help me stop coughing and feeling sick. I also hurt my eyebrow when I was teasing Zoe, my dog with her toy. I forgot I was so close to the cabinet when I turned around to run away with Zoe’s toy and whacked my eyebrow! Grandpa said to walk it off – he says that a lot when I whine. Grandma gives me hugs. I kiss Momma and Dada’s picture on the big cold box in the kitchen every night and lots of times during the day!

On Wednesday I am feeling better and so I want to PLAY! Grandma is looking kind of tired. Chasing me is hard work and bouncing me up and down is good for her arms! She wasn’t looking at me all worried and everything this morning so I thought I better do something about that – I took a 3 hour nap! I normally don’t like to sleep that long – but how is a guy supposed to get any sympathy. Besides that I haven’t been sleeping all that well with all that green stuff coming out of my nose so I got some extra shuteye! Speaking of my nose, you should see how many tissues Grandma has – she must have more than anyone in the whole world and she tries to use them on me!! I like it when the green stuff dries, it makes me look like I have a mustache and I look older, like at least FIVE. I just wish I had more words so I could tell her to leave my nose alone!!

Today is Thursday and I played with Alejandra today and decided to scare her! I decided to turn all white and have my lips and fingernails turn kind of blue. She called grandma who came to look at me. This is so much fun having everyone watching me. I can read on the floor and play with my toys and they just watch and watch. I haven’t slowed down and my eating is good. The Doctor said I was breaking a fever or something and just to watch me – hee hee, that is what I’m talking about!! Grandma thinks that since I’m feeling better I can to go to sleep in my own bed now on not on her in the recliner. I found out if I cried long enough she would come and get me and we would sleep in the recliner for a while. My butt itches, oh darn, I am getting that icky old diaper rash back from the tasty medicine. Oh bother!! When will the parentals come home??? It’s a lot of pressure to keep being cute and entertaining all the time!!

Good thing Momma and Dada are coming home today, I was going to beat my head on the door if they didn’t come home! I do that a lot, beat my head on things, it is funny until it hurts, then I fake cry. Grandpa is like a broken disc and says to walk it off. My mom should have warned me about him! Grandma really worked on my nose today so I won’t have a nasty nose when I see Momma and Dada. I am really excited to see Momma and Dada but there are things I will miss too. I will miss diving on Grandpa at night when he is sitting in his chair. He gives good tickles! I will miss Grandma and her recliner too but it will be good to be back at home with Momma and Dada and Zoe. I LOVE THEM LOTS!
