The other night, I went in to check on Noah and cover him up, just like I do, every night. This time, the little guy surprised me. I walked in, looked down at him and had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. I guess he was bored and decided to get naked. It was the cutest, but also an amazing, thing to see. He figured out how to take off his clothes. From unsnapping the snaps across the bottom to lifting the jammies over his head and over his arms, all while not sitting on the bottom of the fabric. What a smart little guy. It’s those sweet little times you want to wake him up and squeeze and smother them with kisses.
Then, there are the other nights you just wish they would go back to sleep. The nights were you would give up pretty close to anything to make them go back to sleep. That was our night last night. Noah has been waking up in the morning with a very wet diaper and it seeping through to his clothes. I figured, since he had already unsnapped his bottoms (he didn’t get the rest off this time) it would be easy to do a quick diaper change so he would be more comfy through the night. Well, I successfully got the diaper off, and the new one on when I stood up to put him back to bed when I stepped in something squishy. Yup; since I changed the diaper in the dark, I didn’t know the turd fell out until I stepped in it. Smart me had no wipes or diapers in his room, so I had to wake him up all the way by bringing him to the living room to get us both cleaned up. Needless to say, he was not a happy camper and it took me 20 minutes of him yelling and crying to get him to calm down and get back to sleep. I learned my lesson with that one.
